Our Rabbi: Rabbi Jason Strauss
Rabbi Jason Strauss, a native of Lawrence, NY, began serving as rabbi of Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe in August 2016. He has set goals to continue Kadimah's traditions of warmth and openness, commitment to Torah observance and study, and meaningful tefillah (prayer).
Rabbi Strauss has taught middle school Judaic Studies at the Maimonides School in Brookline, MA; Talmud and science at the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach in Long Beach, NY; and Talmud at SAR High School in Riverdale, NY. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Mt. Sinai Jewish Center in Washington Heights, NY from 2014-2016.
Rabbi Strauss studied for rabbinical ordination at Yeshiva University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. He completed his Masters Degree in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2013 and his Bachelors Degree in Engineering at Columbia University in 2011. Before that, he spent a year studying at Yeshivat Shaalvim in Israel.
Rabbi Strauss and his wife, Kimberly Hay Strauss, are very happy to be part of the Kadimah family.
